Sunday Afternoon at MMH
Thank you Caitlin for picking a couple pictures from Daniels B-Day Party. Obviously communicating through the blog is not a strength for us but because of the overwhelming love and support we have felt through prayer, calls and visits, Chris and I want to take this opportunity to thank as many of you as possible...Thank you so much...you all have carried us through this time. Matthew 7 indicates that God wants us to talk to him about our concerns alot. 'Keep on asking and you will receive, keep on seeking and you will find, keep on knocking and the door will be opened." We've really sensed some door bashing going on since last Friday afternoon! Daniel is resting easily right now but I fully expect him to take more steps forward during his next "alert phase" Hard to describe how I felt when I got here for the "day shift", walked into his room to have him open his arms half way to give me a hug, it was another great moment. A while ago they brought him his first real "meal" consisting of mashed potato's and chicken (kinda minced) plus he ate all of the jello, but passed on the broccoli, no big change there. I just asked him to give me the shaka sign-he did. That's about all for now, his care team is great, God's grace is sufficient, love you all..the maucks

Thank you for updating us. The blog may not be something you enjoy updating but for those of us praying and not wanting to bother you it's a huge blessing.
I think there are far more people praying than you realize. We go to Calvary Chapel and know Daniel from there and from the Charter school and are praying for him constantly. You are all in our prayers as Daniel is a very special guy.
We'll keep praying and waiting for news. Thanks for keeping us updated.

I check this blog so many times a day. Of course a lot of people now know I am "addicted to blogging" :) but seriously, I check expectantly - expecting that God will answer our many prayers. It's so cool to read that part about the Daniel opening his arm halfway for a hug, and the shaka sign. It gave me chicken skin and made me teary eyed. God is good.

Jesse and I were on the Big Island this past weekend, but Daniel was in our hearts and prayers all the time.He even appeared in my dreams, was just standing there smiling..He is such a special young man and I will always remember what a lifesaver he was when we adopted him for the day a few years ago to help entertain one of our visiting grandsons.
Another time he came with Mikey to do some chores for us and would not take any pay--and as we all know teenagers can always use extra money! We continue to hold you in our hearts and prayers!Joyce and Jesse
